Mediumship keeps evolving.&nbsp; How the information comes in is getting clearer.&nbsp; Symbols that are recurring across readings are still being used by Spirit, while new ones are also presented to me.&nbsp; I try to keep my interpretation out of it, unless it's necessary for the sitter to understand what Spirit is trying to relay.I talk to my circle of medium/psychic friends and we discuss our abilities and how we receive the information.&nbsp; Experiences happen before readings or during them often that happen from Spirit, to be shared with the person I am reading or about to read for.&nbsp; When Spirit manipulates energy to help you see/feel/hear/smell for their loved one, they can do it in so many different ways.&nbsp; It is important to trust that this energy transfer is spirit, and not just a coincidence.&nbsp; When this is recognized by the medium, it opens up a new channel of information that can be relayed.An example of this can be seen during a reading I had about 2 months ago.&nbsp; I was sitting in my kitchen finishing up a reading, and I asked the woman I was reading for if she had any questions.&nbsp; She said yes, that "my father had told me he was going to come back after he passed and show me this sign.&nbsp; Do you know what that sign is to validate it's him?"&nbsp; So I quieted my mind and asked.&nbsp; Her father showed me a bird in my mind's eye, and simultaneously, out of the corner of my eye I saw a black crow land directly outside of my door and stare in at me, then it flew away."An old black crow?&nbsp; He said he was going to come back as an old black crow", I told her.&nbsp; "Yep.&nbsp; That's it.&nbsp; An old black crow."My point is to be aware.&nbsp; Be open.&nbsp; See the signs and notice them.&nbsp; Believe it is Spirit telling you something, they communicate in fascinating ways and no, it's not a coincidence.

It's Always Changing.

Confidence in yourself as the medium is what it's all about in a session.&nbsp; Being in the middle, receiving information from an entity that others can't or don't believe they can communicate with, is hard.&nbsp; Having the confidence to relay messages from Spirit really can be difficult.Some people are what I refer to as "easy to read".&nbsp; They are spiritual and very open.&nbsp; They come to a session with an open-mind, even if they may be skeptical.&nbsp; Then you have others that participate with their body, but not their whole self.&nbsp; They are physcially there in a session, but not actually allowing themselves to open up.&nbsp; The closed-down participant really can create a barrier, whether they realize they are doing so or not.The way Spirit provides information to me is changing all the time.&nbsp; I wrote&nbsp; in earlier blogs, about how in the beginning, information was given to me only in images.&nbsp; What was shown to me then, I now can compare to a picture book.&nbsp; They were really basic images.&nbsp; Once I was fully practicing and devloping as a&nbsp; medium, I had a greater understanding of what was being presented to me.&nbsp; The way Spirit communicated with me changed.&nbsp; I was hearing and receiving information without the pictures and images.&nbsp; Spirit was able to tell me what I needed to know, and my confidence had grown to be able to relay messages in a session.&nbsp; Earlier today, I had a reading at Spirit Well Sensory Lounge, in Stuart.&nbsp; I was sitting in a session with a man named Charlie, and connected to his aunt in Spirit.&nbsp; She validated who she was and gave him information to let him know it was her.&nbsp; (This is typical in the start of a session.&nbsp; Spirit lets you know who it is I am channeling). &nbsp;He told me he was a skeptic, but was open to a reading since it was his first one.&nbsp; During the reading, his aunt provided me with information I had never gotten before.&nbsp; Well, I had never gotten it in this form.&nbsp; She was telling me flowers at my feet.&nbsp; I didn't understand, so I was asking her to elaborate.&nbsp; I wanted to give him something more than, "she is telling me to tell you about flowers."&nbsp; (Such a basic statement, right?)&nbsp; Then she showed me a garden all over the ground in front of me.&nbsp; She told me, and I knew exactly what she was saying, "my ashes were spread here.&nbsp; I am thankful."&nbsp; I asked Charlie if he made the choice for her ashes to be spread in a garden, and yes, those were the circumstances.&nbsp; He was shocked that I would know that information.&nbsp; I was impressed with his aunt for providing the information to me in a way I could easily understand.&nbsp; That challenge pops up often, Spirit sometimes gives information in a way that can be difficult to interpret.&nbsp; Not today, and I am thankful.

Growing and Changing

The hardest part about mediumship is trusting yourself as the medium.&nbsp;Hearing, seeing, or feeling the information just happens.&nbsp; You receive information so quickly and are expected to relay it to the person you're sitting with.&nbsp; It's your job to provide them with the validations and messages from their deceased loved ones.&nbsp;&nbsp;But it can be hard.When you are just learning to do this, it's all about trusting yourself.&nbsp; You have to be able to let go of any worry that you might get it wrong.&nbsp; If you are someone who is just trying to learn mediumship, give yourself some time to practice.&nbsp; SO WHAT IF IT'S WRONG AT FIRST?!&nbsp; The best mediums are accurate only 90% of their readings.&nbsp; I have wittnessed many live readings, watched streamed episodes on TV, listened to podcasts of well-known psychic/mediums; and all of them have one or two things that might not be 100% accurate to that person's situation.&nbsp; So, if you're just starting out, cut yourself some slack. I have had so many people ask me if I think I was "born with it" or if mediumship is something everyone can do.&nbsp; I don't think you have to be born with it.&nbsp; For me, I had experiences with Spirit from a young age, but it didn't necessarily make me more in-tune than anyone else.&nbsp; Mediumship is something that can be learned and practiced.&nbsp; Soon I will be offering a "Mediumship 101" course where students will have people to practice on.&nbsp; It is so important that you have a place where you can feel comfortable giving it a try.&nbsp; If I didn't have people willing to let me practice when I started, it wouldn't have devleoped as quickly for me.This brings me to one of my early on mediumship experiences with my good friend, Shantel.&nbsp; I want to share it with you because maybe these experiences will help you relate and develop your abilities.We were out for dinner one night and having a glass of wine.&nbsp; We were having "girl-talk", when I was completely distracted by hearing from her grandfather.&nbsp; Images kept popping in my head so quickly that I had to interrupt her, and ask her about her grandfather, Bill.&nbsp; "Is that his name Shantel, Bill?"&nbsp; She told me yes, his name was William but he also went by Bill. &nbsp;Then there was that damn red wagon again.&nbsp; But by now, I knew it wasn't a literal wagon.&nbsp; It was a representation of childhood.&nbsp; He was talking to me about her childhood; a field with a willow tree, that the family used to have gatherings under.&nbsp; "Shantel, is this something you can relate to?"&nbsp; Sure enough, that field was his property that they always would go to and sit under their willow tree.&nbsp; Validations of her grandfather were coming forward.&nbsp;&nbsp;Next it went to messages from someone she wouldn't think she would hear from.&nbsp; I gave her information about an old ex-highschool boyfriend.&nbsp; This information was coming from her ex's father, who had passed away a few years prior.&nbsp; I was hearing music, something that he and his dad used to do together.&nbsp; He would make and record music.&nbsp; "I still have the tape he made me in a drawer somewhere," I remember her saying.&nbsp; &nbsp;Fast forward to today.&nbsp; I talked to Shantel and asked her if she minded if I shared part of her story.&nbsp; She of course said she didn't mind, and then also said at the end of our conversation, that night she realized that I could really communicate with people who have died.&nbsp; "How could you have known?&nbsp; You didn't know about my ex-boyfriend Bryan or his father.&nbsp; I just knew from that night on, it was real."And so did I.

It can be difficult. Trust yourself.

It was a few years after college and experiences with Spirit continued to pour in.&nbsp; I was living in my first home with my husband, Marc.&nbsp; I have to say how thankful I am for him not discouraging me.&nbsp; Even back then, he was very open to the idea of "ghosts" surrounding us, and the possibility that people could actually communicate with them.&nbsp; My mother-in-law, Pam, is also a Psychic Medium; but at this time in our lives she was still in the preliminary stages of learning how to read Tarot.&nbsp; Marc, Pam, Deb (my mom), and I would all frequent local psychic-mediums.&nbsp; There was one psychic that we went to often.&nbsp; We would sit in her kitchen and she would read Tarot cards to us, unveiling information that was eerily accurate about our past, the present, and would even give us information about the upcoming future.&nbsp; Every time we left our readings, I was in total awe.&nbsp; She would tell me that I was able to communicate with Spirit.&nbsp; We went to other mediums in the area, and they too gave me the same information.&nbsp; They said that it is in my future, that I would be giving mediumship readings to help others heal.However, at this point in my life, it still hadn't crossed my mind that I was able to do this; give someone a reading by connecting with a soul who had passed on.&nbsp; Only people that were born with a special gift could do readings, right?&nbsp; I just didn't believe them.&nbsp; I had "experienced" things, but there was no way I could ever talk to the dead.&nbsp;&nbsp;This brings me to my first attempt.&nbsp; Let me give you a very brief backstory.&nbsp; The summer before my freshman year of college, I lost one of my good friends, Josh.&nbsp; He was driving home on icy roads to get his gear for lacrosse practice, he was an incredible athlete in our hometown, when his car slid off the side of the road.&nbsp; He crashed into a telephone pole, which took his life.&nbsp; Driving down icy backroads in Upstate NY is treacherous, even for experienced drivers.&nbsp; Let me just say -- our community lost an amazing athlete, friend, and family member that day.&nbsp; I am grateful for my time with Josh, and the relationship that I had and still have with his family.&nbsp;&nbsp;Now fast-forward back to where this chapter began.&nbsp; I was living in my first home with my husband, Marc.&nbsp; Experiences with Spirit continued to pour in.&nbsp; After meeting with the local mediums who told me I had "the gift" and could give readings, I decided I was going to actually give it a try.&nbsp; But there was one big problem.&nbsp; How do I do it?&nbsp; How would I even try to begin?&nbsp; Who did I know that I could try to connect to, outside of family members, to try to give a reading for someone?... Josh.So I sat down in my living room and did what I remember seeing other mediums do.&nbsp; I closed my eyes, took in a few deep breaths, and I waited.&nbsp; But, nothing happened.&nbsp;So I started to speak out loud, calling out Josh's name and asking for him to please answer me.&nbsp; "Let me do this - let me give your brother a message from you, so he knows you're alright."&nbsp; I waited, then tried again and again, with no luck.&nbsp; Finally, I heard it.&nbsp; "Meg."&nbsp; I heard my name.&nbsp; "Holy $h!t was he actually trying to communicate?"&nbsp; I kept begging out loud for him to talk to me or show me something, move something, I don't know at this point, give me anything.&nbsp; Then, I started seeing images.&nbsp; First it was a red wagon.&nbsp; "A red wagon?&nbsp; What does that mean?"&nbsp; (Later on I learned it was Spirit's way of telling me they wanted to talk about something from childhood.)&nbsp; Then it was a helmet, a lacrosse helmet.&nbsp; I remember thinking how that seemed too vague.&nbsp; Everyone in our town knew he played lacrosse.&nbsp; Was this my own mind, or information coming from him?&nbsp; Then I was seeing this helmet placed on a head board.&nbsp; He was showing me his headboard with a helmet on it.&nbsp; I didn't quite understand.&nbsp; So I called his brother, Bubba.&nbsp; His wife, Shannon, answered the phone and I cautiously told her what was happening.&nbsp; Thank God they are awesome and spiritual people.&nbsp; They were open to me trying to pass on a message.&nbsp; &nbsp;She confirmed for me what he was trying to say.&nbsp; Their parents had recently sold their house, and they had taken the board that was above Josh's bed with all of his helmet stickers on it.&nbsp; Shannon said they put it up in their bar.&nbsp; Josh was trying to tell me he knew about it, and to let them know he was still around them.With their permission, I continued to talk to Josh and relay messages.&nbsp; This was only the beginning.

My First Attempt at Giving a Reading

Off to college I go.&nbsp; St. Lawrence University -- it was in the same town that I grew up in.&nbsp; Thankfully, instead of staying at home my parents wanted me to have the full college experience, so I had a roommate and stayed in the dorms.&nbsp; About a month in to school, I had gone to bed and felt that same shaking I had felt numerous times at my house.&nbsp; I recognized it immediately, this is such a distinct feeling.&nbsp; It is such a subtle shake -- I've described it before like when your dog is itching his ear and leaning against the bed.&nbsp; It feels just like that, a quick but noticable shake.&nbsp;So, who was it?&nbsp; I called my mom the next morning and told her what happened, to which she said, "it must be the lady!&nbsp; She is just watching over you at school."&nbsp; That is a nice thought.&nbsp; This really didn't scare me anymore because by now it had happened so often.Maybe that's right.&nbsp; Maybe that is who it was.&nbsp; Looking back, I honestly don't know.&nbsp; I had a few important people in my life, at this point, that had passed away.&nbsp; Thinking about it now, it could have been them.&nbsp; It was just that this woman was always associated with this shaking and was the reason, in my mind, for it to be happening.&nbsp;&nbsp;Now I'm going to share with you the most terrifying of my experiences as, unbeknownst to me, a developing medium.&nbsp; I had an experience with clairvoyance (seeing images), except it wasn't just an image in my head.&nbsp; It was standing in front of me in my dorm room.&nbsp; It had to have been about the middle of the night.&nbsp; I woke up from my sleep and looked down over the edge of my bed.&nbsp; My bed was lofted so I was pretty high up in the air.&nbsp; Standing in the middle of my room was a girl about my age, with dark hair, and she was soaking wet.&nbsp; She was staring back up at me, with a tilted head.&nbsp; Her neck looked kinked.&nbsp; I remember rubbing my eyes, taking a second look, and she was still standing there looking up at me.&nbsp; Holy sh!t.&nbsp; I pulled my covers over my head and stayed there, absolutely terrified until the morning.Jump ahead now to the summer after my freshman year.&nbsp; I was back on campus, working in our President's office.&nbsp; I was walking around campus one day and decided to go back to my old dorm, just to take a peek and reminisce.&nbsp; I ran in to our custodian that was at our dorm -- I loved her, she was seriously the nicest woman!&nbsp; I chatted with her for a bit, then thought&nbsp; I should ask her about what I saw.&nbsp; I asked her if she knew if anyone had ever died in our building.&nbsp; Her response was so casual, "Oh yes, a few years ago there was a girl that did pass away here.&nbsp; She actually lived on the same floor as you Meg."&nbsp; Okay, that is so weird.&nbsp; Right?&nbsp; There was a girl who had died and lived on my floor!&nbsp; What a strange coincidence, I saw a "ghost" of a girl in my room.&nbsp;&nbsp;I asked her if she knew how she had died, and she was so slow to respond.&nbsp; It took some coaxing, and she warned me it was a little creepy and didn't really want to tell me.&nbsp;&nbsp;"She ended up commiting suicide.&nbsp; She hung herself up in the shower."&nbsp; Oh my good Lord.&nbsp; This girl was the girl in my room.

Clairvoyance During My Early College Days

Even though my mom had finally felt the bed shake; my family and I continued to create explanations for how it must have happened.&nbsp; Sure, we kept playfully mentioning that a "ghost" could be the cause of the shaking, however this reason was never our serious explanation.&nbsp; I had a hard enough time falling asleep at night, so to say a ghost was the cause, wasn't the explanation my parents were trying to give.&nbsp; Seeing the woman sitting at the end of my bed had stopped at this point.&nbsp; I'm not sure if my conscious mind was starting to block her out, because my reality at the time was that "there is no such thing as a ghost".Fast forward a few years, around the age of 11.&nbsp; I had a few very close girlfriends that lived in my neighborhood and went to elementary school with me.&nbsp; We constantly had play dates together after school, and their families were good friends with my parents.&nbsp; &nbsp;Now, this is going to make us sound like weirdo kids.&nbsp; In my opinion, my friends and I were pretty "normal" girls -- involved in school sports, had lots of friends, etc.&nbsp; However, we started getting interested in "spooky" things like ghosts and magic.&nbsp; We would go to the library at school and research books on spells, witchcraft, and levitation and talk about the different spells we wanted to try out after school -- all very much in secret of course.&nbsp; We were all under the belief, in our pre-teen minds, that we were actually capable of being true "witches".&nbsp; &nbsp;Of course nothing ever came of it, other than a group of girls just scaring each other nearly half to death.&nbsp; If you have ever seen the movie "The Craft", we were like mini versions of Robin Tunney and Neve Campbell, just minus the black lipstick and gothic clothing.&nbsp;&nbsp;As a side note, looking back on it, we all had a strong calling to the spirit world.&nbsp; We just didn't know at this point that was the force we were feeling.&nbsp; My one friend, Erin Lassial (MCHt), has continued forward as a Therapeutic Hypnosis Practitioner, using her psychic abilities to connect with Spirit during her sessions and helping others do the same.&nbsp; She helps others connect to their psychic abilities to further enrich their lives giving a deeper understanding of their current life, in context of their spiritual paths.&nbsp; I was talking to her today and she was saying how she really thinks our souls just knew back then.&nbsp; She said, "the power of the mind is so great, that us being curious was us just actually listening to what we already knew.&nbsp; We were unknowingly connecting with our innate abilities; which is connecting with Spirit."Why do I bring up this part of my life?&nbsp; Because it is another important piece of my story.&nbsp; Around this time when we were meddling with the ideas of spell casting and ghosts, just like what Erin and I were talking about, I was subconsciously opening myself back up to the spirit world.&nbsp; I was drawn to it and trying to bring it forward in my life, which unbeknownst to me was also setting the stage for my next experience with visitiations, again from the woman I would see at the end of my bed.&nbsp; One night I woke up in the middle of the night in my room, and needed a drink of water.&nbsp; I walked down the stairs in the dark, through the living room and went into the kitchen.&nbsp; Because I was afraid of the dark, I remember hurrying to get my water.&nbsp; Then I walked pretty quickly back through the living room to head up the stairs and back up to bed.&nbsp; You know when you see something out of the corner of your eye?&nbsp; Well that's what happened to me.&nbsp; While I was walking up the stairs, I turned to see what had caught my eye; and there sitting in my parents' glider, in their living room, was that same woman I had seen years ago.&nbsp; The chair was moving a slow rock, and she just sat there, completely motionless... but, the chair was rocking.
